From The Chairperson Scientific Committee

Respected seniors and colleagues

As I address you on the final day of my tenure as Chairperson of the Scientific Committee, I am filled with gratitude and a sense of accomplishment for the journey we have shared. In October 2022, I was entrusted with this responsibility, supported by a dynamic new team of MPSOS and scientific members from across 6 divisions.

My goal has been to bring fresh ideas and elevate our scientific activities—the backbone of any impactful conference. Over the past two years, overseeing the scientific content for our two-and-a-half-day programs has been both an honor and a significant responsibility.

During this time, I have worked tirelessly to foster engagement at all levels, involving our respected seniors, encouraging juniors, and inviting first-time presenters to the podium. Alongside two annual and two midterm conferences, we expanded participation beyond regular members, involving postgraduate students as well.

One of our most notable initiatives has been the “Preceptors of the Future” competition. online divisional event for PG and finals held at midterm conferences in Jabalpur and Rewa. This competition has offered PGs a valuable platform, and I am optimistic that it will continue to thrive.

During my tenure, we launched the MPSOS Times, totalling five volumes, with the upcoming issue focusing on the cornea. I hope the new team will continue this initiative, evolving it into an MPSOS journal to enhance our scientific contributions in Madhya Pradesh.

Beside this We organized many webinars but best was "Publish and Flourish" initiative to foster learning from experts and enrich our members' publication skill in which we a lagging.

I fondly remember Late Dr. Salil Kumar, the organizing president of the 40th MP State Annual Conference in Bhopal in 2016—a memorable event and being part of organizing team as Editor Souvenir was immensely rewarding, and I am grateful to have witnessed and contributed to our society's growth since then.

I'm thrilled that our 47th Annual Conference of MPSOS Bhopal is having galaxy of speakers -3 international, 18 national, and 160 state faculties, with 180 faculty talks, 123 papers, and 83 poster presentations. Beside the famous and most liked events like court martial, pentathlon, clash of titans, PG Quiz and innovative programs as "Jodi presentations" “Kaksha” and many more have been incorporated. I am fully confident that you will find these two-and-a-half days of non-stop scientific deliberation to be both engaging and educational.

Our society in my tenure has been recognized with the Best State Society Award in the 500-1000 members category for 2023-24 by the AIOS, presented at the 82 nd AIOS Annual Conference in Kolkata on 14 th March 2024. This honor reflects our continuous efforts toward medical education, postgraduate teaching, and social awareness campaigns, and I am proud that our hard work has been acknowledged. This achievement belongs to all of us. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter, clearer future in eye care.

As I conclude this journey, I extend my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues, seniors, and juniors for their unwavering support. Together, we have created lasting memories and strengthened MPSOS’s scientific legacy. I am confident that we have laid a strong foundation for future growth.
